Furkids Productions LLC sprang from the combination of two
seemingly incompatible interests: scrapbooker/crafter and quilt designer/computer graphics artist.  Next-door neighbors Janice Crum Tallent, the scrapbooker/crafter, and Mary Jobe Mason, the quilt designer/computer graphics artist, became acquainted after a lawn-mowing incident involving both husbands and a tree that was barely more than a stick.  Many over-the-fence chats followed, leading to the discovery of common interests such as flower gardening and a deep love of animals.  Ever present during these chats was Mary's beloved Scottish Terrier, Katie.

Then, Janice worked for three months to rescue a stray Mountain Feist she named Grendel.  Having no fenced yard of her own, it was natural for Grendel to visit Katie's yard to play.  As a result, Mary's house became known as "doggie daycare," and every evening the two friends, their families, and their faithful "furkids" met in the backyard for a time of fun and fellowship.

Janice and Mary combined their creative talents and love of family photos to create Slideshow Album DVD's for their relatives.  After much encouragement from family and friends, they decided to offer their services to the general public.  When the time came for Janice to choose a name for her business it seemed natural for "furkids" to be included, and Furkids Productions LLC was born.

Janice lives in Maryville, Tennessee with her husband, John; sons, Jacob & Jarrett; cats, Gabby and Hemi; and of course, Grendel.  She is a second grade teacher with the Blount County School System, and has been teaching for 16 years.  She is an avid reader, scrapbooker and crafter, and loves to organize.  To view samples of Janice's work, click here.

Mary has been a freelance graphics artist for over 15 years.  She runs her business, VRQ Designs LLC, from her home with Katie as her supervisor.  She has designed and maintains web sites for several clients.  She is a quilt designer and has had many of her quilts/patterns published.  She has illustrated numerous quilting publications including McCall's Vintage Quilts.  To view samples of Mary's work, visit www.vrqdesigns.com.

Although the two friends work together, there are two separate businesses for tax and licensing purposes.  You may contact Janice at janicetallent@yahoo.com and Mary at mjmason@mac.com.  We look forward to getting to know you.
